Aprender através do brincar no exterior: um estudo de caso

Abstract

O estudo que aqui se apresenta decorre da investigação desenvolvida no âmbito do estágio profissionalizante do Mestrado em Educação Pré-Escolar e Ensino do 1º Ciclo do Ensino Básico realizado na Escola Superior de Educação Paula Frassineti. Esta pesquisa tem como objetivo perceber de que modo as crianças desenvolvem as suas capacidades através das brincadeiras no espaço exterior. Destaca-se a importância de os educadores privilegiarem situações e experiências de contacto das crianças com a natureza, de possibilitarem a sua exploração livre ou orientada e assim estarem a promover o seu desenvolvimento a vários níveis. O presente estudo tem como temática- o brincar no exterior no jardim-de-infância. Ao longo do trabalho existe sempre uma parte reflexiva sobre a importância do brincar, mais explicitamente, o brincar no exterior e as aprendizagens significativas que a criança pode promover, privilegiando a parte reflexiva que se torna o essencial para a vida e formação profissional de qualquer educador. Os objetivos orientadores do foram compreender a importância atribuída pelos educadores ao brincar assim como conhecer a opinião das crianças sobre o brincar no espaço exterior. No que se refere ao percurso metodológico, este enquadra-se numa abordagem de tipo qualitativo na linha da investigação-ação, sendo que os dados recolhidos foram através de registo de observação, de discussão focalizada e de entrevistas. Salienta-se a parte crucial da observação e da voz das crianças acerca deste tema. Os dados obtidos evidenciam que os profissionais da educação intencionam momentos de brincadeira, nomeadamente, ao ar livre considerando este como um meio essencial de aprendizagem. Assim como as crianças que, igualmente, avaliam os momentos destinados ao brincar no exterior como de satisfação, liberdade e partilha.

The study presented here is the result of the research carried out within the framework of the vocational training of the Master's Degree in Pre-School Education and Teaching in the 1st Cycle of Basic Education held at Escola Superior de Educação Paula Frassineti. This research aims to understand how children develop their skills through playing outside. It is important for educators to privilege situations and experiences of contact of children with nature, to enable their free or guided exploration and thus be promoting their development at various levels. This study has as its theme - outdoor play in kindergarten. Throughout the work there is always a reflective part about the importance of playing, more explicitly playing outside and the significant learning that the child can promote, giving priority to the reflective part which becomes the essential for the life and professional training of any educator. The guiding objectives of the project were to understand the importance attributed by the educators to playing as well as to know the children's opinion about playing outside. As far as the methodological path is concerned, it is part of a qualitative approach in the line of action-research, and the data collected were through observation recording, focused discussion and interviews. The crucial part of observation and the children's voice on this subject is highlighted. The data obtained shows that educational professionals intend to play, namely in the open air, considering this as an essential means of learning. As well as the children who also evaluate the moments destined to play outdoors as one of satisfaction, freedom and sharing. Keywords: play; nature; learning
