Educação para os Valores de Cidadania em Contexto de Jardim-de-infância e Creche: perspetivas de educadores, famílias e crianças

Abstract

O tema abordado neste relatório de estágio é Valores de Cidadania no Contexto de Educação. Este tema foi escolhido pela investigadora por esta ser escuteira e a educação para os valores ser a base da educação escutista. Outra razão que levou a investigadora a escolher este tema foi por o achar atual e pertinente para esta época de grandes transformações que se vive no mundo. A investigadora considera que este é um tema importante para os educadores de infância trabalharem com os grupos de crianças, pois só assim as educadoras estarão a fazer um trabalho completo no desenvolvimento das crianças. Redigido e pensado após ter surgido a pergunta de partida: qual a perspetiva de crianças, educadores e famílias sobre a educação para os valores de cidadania; e após terem sido delineados alguns objetivos. A estrutura deste relatório está dividida em três partes principais. Primeiramente, encontra-se o enquadramento teórico do tema na educação. São apresentados os temas e o que os autores teóricos pensam acerca de cada assunto. De seguida, é apresentada a metodologia de investigação utilizada que se baseia numa perspetiva de estudo qualitativo e os instrumentos e técnicas de investigação, assim como, os procedimentos. Na terceira parte, são apresentados os dados recolhidos através dos inquéritos por questionário, das reuniões de brainstorming e de focus groups e dos registos de investigação. Após a apresentação, a investigadora faz a discussão dos dados obtidos. No final do relatório, a investigadora apresenta as suas considerações finais e faz uma análise sobre os quatro principais objetivos desta investigação. Tendo como aspetos mais relevantes o facto de as crianças, inicialmente, não terem a noção do conceito de Valores e de, ao longo da Prática de Ensino Supervisionada, as crianças irem mostrando alguma evolução na conceção de valores. Também se destacou a dificuldade em alcançar a totalidade dos familiares. Porém, a informação recolhida foi uníssona com a das educadoras: consideravam que a educação pré-escolar desempenha um papel socializador, consolidador e de apoio às famílias. Na resolução do terceiro objetivo foi possível perceber que os familiares e as educadoras concordavam com o processo de 10 promoção dos valores de cidadania. Afirmam que este acontece, principalmente, pelas vivências das crianças, pelo modelo dos adultos e pelo desenvolvimento do espírito crítico. Já no que se refere às ferramentas disponíveis aos educadores, foi percetível a existência de livros cujo tema é exclusivamente o desta investigação; encontra-se disponível no mercado livros com estudos desta matéria, livros de histórias e dirigidos ao desenvolvimento do espírito crítico relacionado com o desenvolvimento de valores; e também documentos disponibilizados pelo Ministério da Educação com fundamentação teórica para os educadores.

Citizenship values within the education scope is the issue which this internship report will address to. In fact, the currentness and relevance of this theme in a world where continuous change is a growing trend, justifies the interest behind the study of such a subject. Moreover, it is considered to be an important topic in youngsters’ education and growth, assisting kindergarten teachers to perform their work, complementing it and potentiating its effects. This report was written upon the concern of the families, education teachers and children perspectives about the citizenship values education and, also, upon the pre-defined objectives. The structure adopted in this report stablished three main parts. Firstly, the subject theoretical framing in the education field, whereas the themes are discussed and the expert’s opinions are presented. Furthermore, the research methodology followed over the education supervised practice will be described. In this second part, the qualitative study as well as the research tools, techniques and procedures adopted will be specified. 11 In the third part, data collected through questionnaire surveys, brainstorming meetings, focus groups and research registers will be displayed. Their analysis and discussion will, then, be performed. At the end of the report, final considerations will be pointed out, along with the survey four main objectives accomplishment appreciation. Therefore, a few key aspects will be taken into account such as, the early lack of Moral Values perception among children, which has evolved into a more aware conceptualized idea with the education supervised practice. In addition, the struggle and efforts developed in the approach to the whole household members will be highlighted. To sum up, it shall be noted that the findings regarding the kindergarten education major roles in human beings are socialization, consolidation and as a family support tool, which was in total agreement with the education teachers’ convictions. As far as the third goal of this work is concerned, we can conclude that the promotion of the citizenship values is a process whose implementation concern is equally shared by teachers and families. Indeed, they stated that childhood experiences, adults’ behaviours and critical thinking ability development remain the main factors that influence it. Regarding the teacher’s available tools, it is highlighted the existence of several books whose discussing topic is, exclusively, the one addressed in this research. In fact, books where surveys disclosing this theme can be found on sale, as well as children history books where their critical ability related to the values interiorization is encouraged. Moreover, theoretical background papers and documents with some guidelines which teachers can find helpful are provided by the Education Ministry. To conclude the study conducted and described in this report, some suggestions and guidelines on future surveys on the subject are proposed.
