A criança e o divórcio – repercussões no desenvolvimento emocional

Abstract

O presente relatório foi realizado no Mestrado em Educação Pré-escolar. A sociedade em que vivemos tem sofrido alterações que apresentam consequências a nível das estruturas familiares, nomeadamente através da crescente taxa de divórcios. As crianças mais pequenas acabam por sofrer com o divórcio dos seus pais, pois esta situação vai muito além da sua capacidade de compreensão. Neste sentido, o presente relatório apresenta como questão de partida “Até que ponto o divórcio tem ou não repercussões no desenvolvimento da criança?”. Assim sendo, foi realizada uma investigação e utilizados instrumentos com o intuito de proceder à recolha de dados. Esses instrumentos de recolha passam pela observação participante, análise documental, entrevista a uma profissional da educação e inquéritos a Encarregadas de Educação. Neste âmbito, com a análise e tratamento dos dados obtidos constatou-se que o processo de divórcio pode modificar a dinâmica emocional das crianças, face às carências que sentem por falta do outro progenitor, traduzindo-se num desajuste emocional, o que pode levar a estados de depressão, tristeza e isolamento. Este estudo veio reiterar que não existe uma estrutura familiar ideal, mas por sua vez, que a necessidade da presença emocional dos pais em casos de divórcio ajuda e protege as crianças.

This report was carried out in the Master's in Pre-school Education. The society in which we live has undergone changes that have repercussions on family structures, in particular through the increasing rate of divorce. Younger children end up suffering from their parents' divorce, as this situation goes far beyond their ability to understand. In this sense, this report presents as a starting point "To what extent does divorce have or do not have repercussions on the child's development?". Therefore, an investigation was carried out and instruments were used in order to collect data. These collection instruments include participant observation, documentary analysis, interview with an education professional, and inquiries to those in Charge of Education. In this sense, with the analysis and treatment of the data obtained, it was verified that the divorce process can modify the emotional dynamics of the children, due to the deficiencies that they feel due to the lack of the other parent, which translates into an emotional maladjustment, which can lead to States of depression, sadness and isolation. This study reiterated that there is no ideal family structure, but in turn, that the need for parents' emotional presence in divorce cases helps and protects children.Key-words: Divorce; Emotional development; Family structure; Child
