O suporte social na prevenção secundária da tuberculose

Abstract

A escolha, da temática da tuberculose como elemento de estudo e a contextualização da luta que se vem desenvolvendo, em Portugal, contra o agente da infeção (o Bacilo de Koch/Bacilo da tuberculose, Mycobacterium tuberculosis), parece justificável e relevante, pois a tuberculose é ainda um grave problema social, constituindo efetivamente um grande risco para a saúde pública. As novas correntes migratórias provenientes de países com alta incidência de pobreza, as más condições de salubridade habitacional, as deficientes condições de higiene, o desemprego, a migração populacional, a crise, o HIV/Sida, as mutações do bacilo e a resistência ao tratamento, têm contribuído para um crescente número de casos de tuberculose, acarretando graves implicações para os programas de controle da mesma. A identificação precoce destes casos através de meios eficazes de diagnóstico, como por exemplo os exames radiológicos, e de um rigoroso tratamento farmacológico, são algumas das medidas fundamentais para o controlo e diminuição desta doença, promovendo assim a proteção do doente e das pessoas que convivem com ele. O suporte social desempenhará um papel proeminente na formação e desenvolvimento do ser-humano, designadamente no que se refere às seis funções proporcionadas: o attachement, a integração social, o reconhecimento do valor pessoal, as alianças estáveis, oportunidade de prestação de cuidados” (Ornelas,2008:194). O projeto na prevenção da tuberculose no Centro Pneumológico Diagnóstico em Matosinhos, apresenta-se com potencial inovador com grande pertinência e relevância face ao futuro, na medida em que está pensado para dar apoio sistemático e precoce aos pacientes e à comunidade onde está inserido. Deve partir da análise da própria realidade envolvente, para que possa satisfazer as necessidades de saúde e sociais a que se destina de forma a melhorar a educação e atingir os objetivos pretendidos.

The choice of the theme of tuberculosis as part of study and contextualization of the fight that has been developing, in Portugal, against infection agent (Bacillus of Koch/tuberculosis Bacillus, Mycobacterium tuberculosis), it seems justifiable and relevant, because tuberculosis is still a serious social problem, constituting effectively a great risk to public health. The new migratory currents from countries with high incidence of poverty, bad health conditions, disabled housing conditions, unemployment, population migration, crisis, HIV/AIDS, the mutations of Bacillus and treatment resistance, have contributed to a growing number of cases of tuberculosis, causing serious implications for control programs. Early identification of these cases through effective means of diagnosis, such as radiological examinations, and a strict pharmacological treatment, are some of the key measures for the control and reduction of the disease, thus promoting the protection of the patient and the people around him. Social support will play a prominent role in the formation and development of the human being, in particular as regards six functions provided: the attachement, social integration, the recognition of personal value, stable alliances, opportunity to care " (Ornelas.2008:194). The project on prevention of tuberculosis in Pneumológico Diagnosis Center in Matosinhos, presents itself with innovative potential with great relevance and importance for the future, in that it is designed to support systematic and early to patients and the community where it is inserted.
