Contributo dos Programas de Enriquecimento para o Desenvolvimento de uma Criança Sobredotada

Abstract

A sobredotação é um tema que continua a despertar interesse na sociedade científica, na tentativa de uma maior compreensão das caraterísticas específicas destas crianças e na procura do que será melhor para o seu desenvolvimento harmonioso. A sobredotação e os Programas de Enriquecimento assumem o papel primordial deste estudo, tendo este como principal objetivo: analisar o contributo dos Programas de Enriquecimento no desenvolvimento harmonioso e na potenciação de capacidades e talentos das crianças sobredotadas. Para tal, utilizou-se uma investigação predominantemente quantitativa com complemento de análise qualitativa, tendo sido utilizada como instrumento o inquérito por questionário. Articulamos as dimensões quantitativas e qualitativas da investigação, com vista a: (i) perceber se os Programas de Enriquecimento são motivadores para a criança sobredotada, (ii) entender se as atividades exploradas nestes Programas satisfazem os interesses destas crianças, permitindo assim o desenvolvimento das suas potencialidades e a interação com crianças com as mesmas caraterísticas, (iii) compreender se estas crianças sentem maior bem estar ao frequentarem estes Programas, (iv) saber o que motiva estas crianças a frequentarem estes Programas, (v) verificar se os pais destas crianças/jovens lhes permitem escolher frequentar estes Programas ou se foram estes que os acharam adequados para os seus educandos, (vi) verificar se a visão dos inquiridos é transversal ou se existem divergências de opiniões. Estes Programas de Enriquecimento tentam promover a exploração das potencialidades de cada criança num ambiente “informal”, onde estas se sintam compreendidas

Giftedness is a topic that continues to attract interest in the scientific community, searching for further understanding of the specific characteristics of these children and in the quest of what will be best for their harmonious development. Giftedness and the Enrichment Programs are the main subject of this study, having as major objective: analyzes of the contribution of Enrichment Programs in the harmonious development, enhanced of skills and talents of gifted children. To achieve this goal, we used a predominantly quantitative research complemented by a qualitative analysis, to raise the need data we have used the questionnaire methodology. Accessing the quantitative and qualitative dimensions of research, in order to: (i) realize if the Enrichment programs are motivating for the gifted child, (ii) understand whether the activities explored on these Programs fulfill the interests of these children, thus allowing the development of their potential and the interaction with children with the same characteristics, (iii) perceive if there is an improvement of the well-being by the attendance of these Programs, (iv) realize their motivation to attend these programs, (v) perceive if the parents of these children / youth allow them to choose to attend these Programs or if were they, that found suitable for them, (vi) check that the vision of respondents is similar across the Programs or if there are any divergent opinions. These Enrichment Programs aim to promote the exploitation of the potential of each child in an "informal" environment, in which they feel understood.
