Dificuldades de aprendizagem específicas: respostas educativas diferenciadas

Abstract

Este estudo reporta-se a uma investigação realizada no âmbito da dissertação de Mestrado em Ciências da Educação, no domínio específico da Educação Especial, que envolveu escolas básicas do primeiro e segundo ciclo de dois agrupamentos de escolas da rede pública de ensino, em Portugal. Analisaram-se múltiplas variáveis envolvidas no sistema de apoio educativo a alunos com dificuldades de aprendizagem específicas, a partir das quais se teceu um conjunto de considerações que pretenderam, de algum modo, contribuir para uma melhor compreensão da problemática em epígrafe. A complexidade dos transtornos inerentes à problemática estudada impõe um desafio que abrange primeiramente o próprio sujeito afetado por essa disfunção, mas também pais, professores e o próprio sistema educativo. Pretendendo perceber quais os recursos que as escolas possuem e como se organizam para responder às necessidades educativas destas crianças, foram inquiridos professores de educação especial e do ensino regular ligados direta ou indiretamente a estes alunos. Este estudo, naturalmente assente numa sólida revisão da literatura, embora não possibilite generalizações, permitiu que compreendêssemos, quanto ao apoio específico de alunos com DAE, que as maiores dificuldades com que se debatem as nossas escolas se prendem com aspetos organizativos, especificamente tamanho e heterogeneidade das turmas, e formativos dos professores, particularmente na área das DAE, e sobretudo com a falta de recursos humanos especializados, de que as escolas carecem para responder às necessidades educativas e, fundamentalmente, reeducativas destes alunos. ABSTRACT This work is included in an investigation on a thesis to achieve a Master in Sciences of Education and in the specific theme of Special Education; it is related to an investigation which included two clusters of portuguese public schools and the first and second cycles of teaching (the first cycle composed of 4 school years and the second one, of 2 school years). We analyzed a range of multiple values in the system of educational support to pupils with specific apprenticeship difficulties, in order to establish a range of postulates for a better understanding of the subject. The complexity of these disorders sets a challenge that covers, primarily the individual affected by this disorder as well as parents, teachers and the educational system itself. Trying to understand what kind of resources are at the disposal of schools and how they are organized in order to answer the educational needs of these children, we inquired teachers of special education and regular teaching, linked – directly or indirectly – to these pupils. Although this study (based in a solid review of the literature on this subject) do not allows any generalization, it admitted, however, our assumption that the biggest difficulties in our schools struggle (in relation with pupils with specific learning difficulties), are related with organizational problems (notoriously, dimension and heterogeneity of school classes) and formative problems with teachers (specifically, in the field of specific learning difficulties) and, most of all, problems of lack of skilled human resources that schools need to better respond to these educational and re-educational needs of these pupils.
